Thanked: 0Greetings from dirty Jersey
I am spanking new to straight edge shaving. Ive dont some research and I decided on getting a dovo special. It seemed to have great reviews. Ive also bought an old chatellerault on a whim but couldnt find enough info on it which let me to getting the dovo. right now im doing research on the proper strop to get. I dont want to get a crappy one that would ruin my blade. I read mixed things aboout not spending money on a good one cause it would prolly get ruined. a 3 inch strop being better than a 2". should i get a vintage one. needing to just use my hand oil or getting a solution. im just getting info overload. Thnx for spending the time to read and if you were to help with some knowledge that would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah I'd recommend a Illinois as a starter, the excellent #827 is usually around $35-40 and while fairly inexpensive still a great strop.

Thanked: 0Thnx for the info. see now that takes care of the confusion. stops really are across the board as far as price. I was looking for a brand name cause i really dont want one that would damage my blade.
