Noob from Miami
Hello all!
This forum is great! Obviously there plenty of experience and people to learn from here. I'm looking forward to becoming part of the select gentlemen to straight razor shave. I have always used cartridge shavers with balanced stem and whatnot but i find myself highly interested in learning how to get a better closer shave. I have no Straight Razor yet, and definitely no experience using it. I do have a silver tip brush, and have been using art of shaving products for a while now. I am totally open to suggestions and recommendations about absolutely anything. I know i have a lot of research to do in order to buy my first razor and its well needed accessories. I would highly appreciate it if you guys can point out some threads, or articles, or just anything i can use for my advantage(meanwhile, ill be reading all the threads i can find on this forum)
Thanks again in advanced
Jonathan

Welcome aboard!!
Most common piece of advise is to read throught the beginners section and the wiki. Check out you tube for extras as well. Quite a few members have put vids up that can be quite informative.

Thanks for the Welcome Hornm. I have been reading the Wiki's and find theme very well explained. I will have plenty of questions soon, hopefully good ones. I'm aware how annoying it is read questions that have previously been asked and answered in earlier threads, i will try to steer away from doing so after this question.
What would be the things as a beginner that i should purchase in order to have a good start in this straight shaving realm? (Razor, Strops, Hones, etc.?) Budget isn't really a problem, but i wouldn't like to spend unnecessary amount of money on my first "learning"set.
I know there's all kinds of razors, strops, hones, etc...but don't know what to look for in a beginners set. (Nor a better quality set in that case)

Probably one of the easiest razor strop combos to get would be any from SRD (Straight Razor Designs). All the combos they have are quality items and pro honed so they'll be shave ready. You can also check in the classifieds as fellow shavers post extra's, restores etc, etc for pretty decent prices. RupRazor has a beginners strop for a decent price. Brushes soaps etc.... That's more of a personal thing. Check out the various other shave vendors as well as the reviews section for decent info on what other people have bought/tried.
Don't worry too much about asking the "same" question, sometimes the answers need a little clarification.
Good Luck
Michael
