That hone is probably too coarse to put a good edge on a razor.

But -- since the seller doesn't give any information about it -- it's hard to say.

My first reaction is:

. . . "Too cheap"

If he cut it down from something good, he'd say what the source was.

I hope you've been reading the honing Wiki's -- it's easy to mess up the edge on a razor.

I was so amazed that I could buy a full set up for shaving an honing to last me a life time for about what it cost me in razor refills for 1.5 years. Never going back.
