Now I an looking thru all of my Books and things and I cannot find It's origin. If not I live 5 Miles from the Main Gate of Parris Island I will go over there and ask and will let you know for sure. I am getting old got a real bad case of CRS some Marine Corps History I remember and some I have forgotten. Its been 30 years since Boot Camp.

Oh, just wait, I was in boot camp 46 years ago this month, San Diego. Check this link and it gives a brief explanation. Not always the best source, but probably reasonably accurate on this one. Leatherneck - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Best Regards and a Merry Christmas to you and yours, and all SRP members and their families.

Yes technically your all correct if you combined your answers. And that wiki article is also fairly accurate, even about the problems with the .38 and that's why I carry a 1911 .45 ACP as my every day carry. And I do believe Santa Came here last night with four mail planes and over 110 pallets of mail. So hopefully when I get into work today my razor will be under our tree at work.
Merry Christmas to you all and have a safe and happy New Year!!!

Good luck I'm sure within a short time you'll shave like a pro. Tried a straight in the first year that I joined the special forces (35 years ago) but didn't know anything about shave readiness and such so didn't work out that well. Now that I'm retired from the force I have all the time in the world and have learned the skills to shave and hone and I'm enjoying it tremendously, Good luck sergeant!

Thanks for your service, marine. Stay safe; hope the most dangerous thing you do is learn to shave!

Thanked: 0I wouldn't have wanted to start this when I was in Afghanistan. Hard enough getting water hot enough for a Mach 3. Hot water in Baghdad in the summer, now that wasn't hard to come by.
