Thread: New Member introduction/Happy New Year 2012!

Greetings from Atlanta, GA (actually, a small city called Tucker)

Always wanted to try shaving with a straight razor, and this year was the time for me to start. Picked up a base model DOVO 5/8 Black, and a badger hair brush. Totally hooked now. This is the best shave, and just about the best time of my day.

Greatly appreciate the knowledge and sharing of information here. Looking forward to many years of clean shaving!

Interestingly, the word tucker, in Australia, means food.
Hope you enjoy your DOVO - I haven't made the scales for mine yet so haven't been able to enjoy the shave.
It is my first brand new razor and am looking forward to honing it and trying it out.

Michael, Mike, Moose - I'll respond to pretty much anything. I have had a few shaves with the DOVO - it's nice and a good bit better than the Mach 3 blades I am used to, but I will be getting some whet stones and learning the process of "refined edges."

I have a few friends in Australia - I even used to work for a Telsra owned company here in the States. I had the pleasure of speaking with several people from Sydney, Melbourne, and a few other cities.

Tucker is over around Stone MTN isn't it?

Tucker is close to Ston Mountain, about 7 miles away. We are right where 285 and Lawrenceville Hwy/Stone Mountain Freeway all connect. Good to meet you!
