    Default First timer in Phoenix

Hello to all! I was very excited to have my first straight razor shave tonight. I really wish I would of found this forum before some of the other sights I took advice from. I like the go slow and start with small sections of the face technique preached here. Unfortunately I listened to another how-to-start on another forum that was very adamant that you only do the whole face with the straight because it encourages you to learn faster. At least I can look forward to implementing the go slow policy tomorrow, going into it with a few fresh cuts from tonight hahaha

    Welcome to SRP!

I would avoid using the straight on the areas with cuts until they heal. Gently go over them perpendicular to the cut with a safety razor.

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

    Welcome,

Yep its wise to go at your own pace, there is no rush, just do what you are comfortable with while you get a feel for the razor.

Personally I did go for the whole face, but didn't get close, then I finished with a safety razor.

    Enjoy the journey.
    Regards
    Nic
