    Default Hello

I've just started shaving with a straight. I asked my wife for one for Christmas and I really enjoy the look on people's face when I tell them I shave with a straight.

I'm still trying to get a great shave-at the moment I'm capable of only a good shave. I look foward to conversing with you all on this site and really want to learn more. I'm in LA (state not city) so if any one is near the Leesville area, let me know.

Have a DOVO Best and Rooney brush. I haven't settled on a soap or cream yet, so I’m still trying lots. Have the Norton 4000/8000, a natural finishing stone and a Swaty barber's hone. I also have a 3 inch wide strop. I'm having difficulty not buying more. LOL

A good quality soap to base all of your other shave soaps off of is Proraso as it is good stuff with about any water. There is better, but there is a lot worse.
