I have been a lurker for a short while and finally decided to make an account. I have found these forums to be very helpful to me and I want to say thank you to all the other members! I recently bought a 5/8 Dovo Special Full Hollow from Larry at Categories along with the poor-man's strop kit. He's a joy to purchase from and I have no complaints. I have a Franks Best-Badger brush and some lime scented col. conk. Don't forget the Proraso pre-shave soap and alum block! It took me a while to take the plunge but I finally did and it was definitely not a mistake. My beard is extremely coarse on my chin and neck and those seem to be my trouble areas but hopefully I'll figure it out before too long. I also want to give a shout-out to my community over at Wicked Edge (Wicked_edge - reddit's straight and double edge shaving community). Thanks guys! This art of shaving truly makes me feel like a man when I am finished and find enjoyment in shaving. I am learning new things every time I shave and use my tools. I look forward to acquiring more soaps in the near future and I even want to get in to honing eventually.

I also have a question for you fine fellas out there. I do feel tugging around my chin areas but the hair there is VERY coarse. Is there a chance i need a sharper edge?
