Another New Englander grabs a straight razor and heads for the appropriate forum.....
Hi!
My background is knives & knife collecting primarily. Over the last few years, a straight razor kept sneaking in with what I was buying. I did not do anything with them and never considered shaving with one. They resided in with the miscellaneous other blades I'd acquired. Last night I got another, a W.H. Morley & Sons Clover Brand without scales. Just a nice blade overall with a bit of darkening. I thought it might be a neat project to put scales on it and that is how I found my way here.
My interest is definitely more on the workshop & project side and the wealth of info in that forum is terrific. I got answers to questions on polishing I had not even asked by reviewing the pertinent threads, great stuff! I can post pics of the razors I have, which forum is appropriate for finds? All are unshortened, chip & rust free and I believe (?)..... good restoration candidates. Here is what I've put together -
Wade & Butcher "Silver Steel"
W.H. Morley & Sons "Clover Brand"
Simmons Hardware "Barber's Pet No. 421"
Electric Cutlery Co. "Electric"
Burrell Cutlery "Top Flight" w/ blued shank
I am definitely looking forward to learning more about these.

Thanked: 2209Welcome to SRP
The razors you listed are all very good quality. Good finds!
May I suggest that you click on "Settings" above and modify you profile to include the "Location". That way whenever there is a Razor Meet in your area you can be notified.
You might also want to monitor the forum "General/Get Togethers" for Razor Meets.
