Default New guy: count me In!

Hi! I've been lurking since my recent switch from throw-aways to DE shaves. I now have the bug for a straight. I put in my order with Larry, from whippeddog.com and await my package. Wish me good fortune!

    Welcome to SRP

Remember to strop just before each and every shave for 30-50 round trip laps. Your face will say thank you.

    Hey Greg.

I've not tried Larry's edges, but also have never heard any complaints. I think you'll find the str8 shave just amazes you. Spend some time on the first shave thread.. Stropping is probably the bigger challenge and probably the most critical skill at first. The best thread I've seen on the topic is Glen's. Its worth going through repeatedly, and be sure to see Al's (afdavis) vid on the all-important 'flip'. That's where all the carnage happens.

The honorable Mrsell had a great one also.
    Please don't nick your strop

You'll probably have better first shaves than I. I'm called pinklather for a reason. In very little time, you'll probably be loving your shaves and the way it leaves your facial skin feeling. I'd be miserable if I had to use something other than a str8 now.
