    Default Hello from Chewelah Washington

I started shaving with a gift from a coworker for Xmas. We were talking about a new knife sharpener that I had just started using (edge pro) and I mentioned that eventually I wanted to get a straight razor, mostly for the sharpening challenge.

He had picked up a straight at some point in the past to use as a patch knife with his muzzle loaders. Luckily he didn't end up using it and I was the recipient of a vintage razor.

I got the razor at work and I don't get off till midnight (evening shift). Of course a new toy must be played with ASAP. So there I was in my kitchen at 1am sharpening up the razor and my dog thinking I was crazy. Initially I honed with a full progression of chosera stones up to 10,000 grit. It is all to true for the learning curve and mine was compounded since I wanted to shave with a razor that I had sharpened.

This week I received 2 dovo 6/8 full hollow from SRD. Thanks Lynn and Don for quick service and great performing products. It helped me realize I could get the razor even sharper.

Just wanted to thank everyone on SRP for information that I have already gained, and my coworker for pushing me off the deep end .

It looks like you have the beginning symtoms of RAD. Buy two more razors and call me in the morning. Welcome to a journey that will last a lifetime. I wish you many close shaves.
