Thread: "Hooked" in Waterloo

26 years old from Waterloo Ontairo Canada. I'm absolutely fascinated with every aspect covered in these forums and have been feverishly collecting anything shaving for a month now.

I got hooked like so...
Went for my first straight shave in October on the morning of my wedding with my buddies. Absolutely the best shave of my life up to that point.
Returned several times for shaves until one day about a month ago I sat in the chair of a barber whose idea of "keep the goatee" was very different from mine. I left very unhappy.
I decided "if you want something done right do it yourself".
So here I am. 1 month in with several shaves under my belt(Parker disposable), ready to invest in something better.

Our journey's into the world of straight razor shaving sound very similar! I'm 26 too. I just bought a vintage W&B off the classifieds. Check 'em out. Razor Emporium also sells a lot of old razors at good prices. You can find someone here or there to restore it to shave-ready status.

Welcome, I dont know how far away you are from Guelph but there is a gathering there this weekend if your interested there will be a bunch of us there with razors, hone, strops and the like.

You boys know where Baden is? Im sure you do!!! Im deep into the game already. Man, we could have a tri citys meet up. FYI, Don't go to maurizios for a shave on ira needles. My buddies and I went there and all came out bleeding like a stuck pig. He does have really good shaving supplies though.
