Hello from New Zealand
I returned to using a DE Razor in April last year after a shave from hell with a march3 and some canned foam.
shaving has gone from 4 days a week to 7 days and looking forward to each shave.
It did not take long for the world of straights to grab my curiosity.
Started SR shaving a few months ago and have taken to it like a duck to water.
have set myself up with a few hones. norton set, 12k Naniwa and a DMT for lapping.
Still have a lot to learn with honing but can get my razor to pass a HHT with a smooth shave so are go to go.
next move for me is to try out some different size razors and grinds to find what fits best.

Thanked: 1371Welcome to SRP!
It sounds like you are off to a good start. Don't be afraid to ask if you have any questions.
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

Welcome to SRP. That smooth shave is the most important part.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thanked: 485Tell ya what, that New Zealandish couple on My Kitchen Rules know how to cook. Not sure how they'd go with fush and chups, though...
Seriously, though, isn't it wonderful how a mundane boring thing can be turned into something you take PHOTOS of, document and sit on the 'net all night telling others about? :-)Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Fair Dinkum - My Kitchen rules: never seen it, is that on the girls night in? Then again I could be on this site at the time LOL
agree would never have dreamed of talking let alone posting on the net re shaving in any shape or form. SWMBO thinks I am mad.
If it was not for the good people on these sites I would still be scrapping my face with a muti blade.
would post a picture of my 1st razor but it is just a traing aid. Dovo 5/8 half hollow. great to learn with but a bit plain Jane
then again a photo of my home made paddle may be good for a laugh.
made from a poorman strop and left over kitchen bench top. she is called Excalibur.
one side TI paste the other Crox. this will do until money permits a nice new one.
1st priority is a 7/8 full hollow and maybe a 7/8 quarter hollow.

Thanked: 485Nice strop. Wait till your SWMBO spies you carefully positioning shaving cream, brush, lotion etc on the kitchen table for the daily Shave of the Day post photo. That's when she KNOWS you're insane!
