Thanked: 0Hello - another Seattle based member
Hi guys, just wanted to introduce myself...My name is Jt and I live in downtown Seattle, with my 3 dogs and my beautiful wife. Today is my 30th b-day and my wife surprised me with a brand new Dovo razor and some shaving stuffs. Oddly this wasn't my first SR, that would be a "king bee - theo a kochs" that I inherited from my wife's grand father.Long story short I never got around to having the old blade tuned up, and buying the accessories..Luckily for me part of my gift basket is a SR shave at the art of shaving over in Bellevue, so I'll get some hands on tips so when I start shaving with my new blad next week I won't cut my face off.Anyway I look forward to meeting everyone on this forum and learning the ins and outs of this straight razor shaving business.Included a few photos of the blades.

Happy Birthday JT!
I followed you over from the comment about Vulcan knives. It just so happens March 1st is my birthday too, though I didn't get any sharp objects from my wife this time around . I'm an early eighties vintage as well. I may ask the missus for a similar birthday shave from an expert - it's a great idea to pick up some pro tips. I've heard Valentin's on the west side is pretty good...
The monogramed razor is beautiful - and thoughtful. You're wife gets an A+!

Thanked: 0Well happy birthday to you to Saxbe!
I'll let you know how the pro shave goes, that way you can get a little inside info before you throw down.
Yes the monogramed razor is amazing, I keep taking it out of the tin to hold it and just feel its heft. The quote was from Sweeny Todd, and we pretty much sealed the deal when we had pints of bitter on Fleet st in London. Also in case you noticed, thats a Union Jack painted on the wall!
