Greetings from Colorado!
Hello everyone! My name is Adam, I am 22 and I live in Colorado. My first interest in shaving with a straight razor was after I got a shave at a local barber before a recent job interview. So far I have only used a borrowed razor with disposable blades that is very terrible. But it got me started and while it is hardly even close to a safety razor as far as I can tell it has gotten my interest and I am doing some research into what actual razor I want to get first. I have been very careful so far and the only cut I have given myself was a small one right on my jawbone but I was lucky and it barely bled at all. I picked up a pretty nice sample shaving oil/cream/lotion set from The Art of Shaving store at a mall in Denver that came with a badger hair brush and it helped big time with the closeness and ease of the shave as well as the raw feeling afterwards. Plus it has a nice sandalwood scent (one of my favorites). For the first time in my life I actually look forward to shaving in the morning and get out of bed early which for me is an accomplishment in itself! I cannot wait to become more experienced like some of you old-timers and I look forward to becoming a part of the community!

Aloha mijo, i take it you are a denverite? I have been to that AOS also, nice place but mega expensive. I get most of my stuff online. Just pick up tips from these narly old knobs on the forum and try them yourself. Tip one: mitchel's wool fat soap = a year of pleasure.... AOS shave creme = 3 months of pleasur.. Cost difference save 80$.
