Thread: Hello from Howell NJ

My name is Jon, I've been shaving with the fusion cartridges (or similar), for 20 years. I've always wanted grouse a straight razor for the heritage of it as well as the chance to get a better shave. I recently picked up a Parker DE to make the transition(still to hesitant to put a st8 to my neck), and found using the DE wasn't nearly as scary Asti looked. With that's took the next step and purchased a Parker straight edge with replaceable blades from online. Both purchases were definitely lower end buys, but i wanted to make sure i wasnt getting in over my head at first.

With that said, using my new str8 i got the best shave ever. Virtually no razor bumps (technique needs to improve) and a long lasting shave. Now i'm on the search for a good quality straight razor to use daily. This forum seems like a wealth of information and collective knowledge that surely will help me in my journey!

That spell correction thing on the IPAD can really mess with you. There are some great razors out there and a few bad name brands.

I've got my eye on a few higher end ones but almost feel like I would better off starting with a Dovo basic, just to get the stopping down before moving up to a nice TI.

I would agree, additionally I'd prefer to shave with a Best (the basic model) Dovo than a TI.
