Default Hello from Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Hello, as a very young 60 year old, I'm looking forward to learning the art of straight razor shaving. I'm facinated with the wealth of knowledge and experience present at SRP and I look forward to slowly entering into this new world of shaving. Hopefully, if I study the wealth and knowledge present here and if I follow all of the great advice that I'll surely seek, I'll make the transition in record time. I'm already having bad thoughts about my ever present Mach 3. I tried to start with the soaps and/or cremes but there are so many choices I don't know which to start with. The same with the brushes. I thought I'd start with a brush and soap while I'm reading the 75 pages of information I printed after joining this evening. Anyway, enough babbling. I'm happy to be here. W.L.A. / Ft. Lauderedale.

Hello WLeonard and welcome to the forum. Its never to late to learn a new skill and especially a wickedly cool skill such as straight razor shaving. It will take a little time and a whole lot of practice, but it will be worth it in the end. The trick is not to give up. It does get easier as you progress. Its also alot of fun.
So welcome brother, and enjoy the ride.

Welcome! I'm a little north of you, West Palm Beach. I been at it for 4 month now. Left my electric of 43 years and haven't looked back.

Send me a PM if you would want to meet and try some of my soaps.

    Good luck Double O

It is a good idea to start slowly. Knowledge will guide you.

Meanwhile, if I were you I'd head east to the Lago Mar or the Marriott and have a nice drink while you're reading up on shaving information.
