    Default Hi from Savannah, GA

    Hey, I just wanted to jump straight into shaving with a razor and I wanted to know what the appropriated blade would be. I see most people selling Fromms for 93 dollars around here. I here they are a lot cheaper and that I could do better.

    Savannah, what a great town - one of my favorites. Had family on E. Jones.

    Jump in to the journey of learning a skill rather than a chore. I doubt you will find better guidance and better friends.

    Welcome,

    Sitka

    Before you get a Fromm, do a search on this site.

    Alternatives to the Fromm:

    New: Dovo "Best Quality" , hand-honed, from Straight Razor Designs (and other vendors if you choose)

    Used (vintage, usually):

    . . . "Classifieds" on this website;

    . . . WhippedDog.com

    You'll also need a leather strop. WhippedDog.com, starshavingsupplies.com, ruprazor.com, or many other suppliers (including Straight Razor Designs).

    Good luck, and read the Wiki's "Beginners" section before you start spending money.
