    Looking forward to them. The hand me downs always look a little better because you know their history has a flow to it. Even better when they are still being used, and the piece's story is still being written.

    As promised ;
    On the blades it reads Ground in Hamburg , on the other side it reads L Fradin 47 Knightsbridge Hyde Park corner , there was some old strop paste unopened , I have only used 1 blade to shave with , after stropping up and down 25 times it became about as sharp as you can get , giving me a very close shave , better than my edwinn jagger DE , the box is wooden with leather around it , inside is a salmon silk cushioned lid with a red velvet bottom ,I have found out that there were 7 of them but my Grandefarther and his brother went halves on the set , 1 got 4 razors the other the box and 3 razors.
    2 of the razors are in very good condition but 1 has slight tarnish in 1 part of the blade.

    Great story and some nice looking razors. i like 7 day sets... even partial ones... i have always thought they were among the makers better products.

    I think your grandpa got the better half of the deal. At least in the longevity of things, you have a case to store them. Have you tried to find the other 4? Sweet set BTW, and their condition shows the longevity. 50 years from now, might be a post, look at this setup I got from my grandpa! They are showing some homing wear, but my dad told me they were bought by my great great grampa. again, nice lookin set!

    bigpaul,

    Those razors look great-even if they are only a partial seven day set. They are beautiful. Congratulations.
