Thread: Hi from Knoxville, Tennessee

Hey all, been lurking around the forums for awhile, recently registered, and spent much time reading from the wiki and forums. I've been interested in straight razor shaving for some time, though friends always told me I'd slit my own throat. I used an old gillette safety razor for awhile, but did not like the material waste of disposable blades. I just took the plunge and ordered one of the wet shaving kits with a Dovo from Straight Razor Designs, and eagerly anticipate my first shave.

I keep a full beard most of the time, so I'll have to practice technique on my neck and cheek.

Anyway, I appreciate this site and its members' contributions.

I too used a DE safety before this, i think straights are the natural step to take after that
