Thanked: 0Hello from. Texico, NM
Hello to all, new to straight razors, made the decision to go in this direction after years of double edge shaving and read an article that stressed the slow down and focus aspect of the art. Received my hot smokin' deal on some razors, then saw the "least wanted" list here. Yes, butter laughs at my new razors (Pakistani) now i must get some useable, quality, equipment. Looking forward to exploring the site and seeing what others have experienced.

Welcome to SRP!
sorry to hear about your unfortunate purchase. i would recommend a starter kit form any of our vendors they can be had to ~$40 to around $200 depending on your options and preferences.
you have learned one lesson in slowing down... "read up before you buy".
enjoy,
jimBe just and fear not.

oh brother!! I made the exact same mistake! Don't feel bad, I tried them all before I found this site! The paki's, the chinese cheapo's, even got me a Gold Dollar that was supposed to be 'shave ready'!! HA!
Welcome aboard, and be sure to ask for advice when the need arises, which it will. And don't be afraid of the 'dumb' question, there is no such thing if you don't already know the answer!
I made all the mistakes there was to be made, and if it wasn't for this site, I would have given it up a long time ago.
Great folks here, lots of information and plenty to be gained. The experience is totally worth the journey!
Have a great one!! and many happy shaves,
M-- Any day I get out of bed, and the first thing out of my mouth is not a groan, that's going to be a good day --
