Default Saying Hey from the Pacific Northwest!

    Hello All!

Way too long in the tooth to be starting something new, like this...
    FYI: 'Shaving with a Straightrazor'.
But, as I was scanning a shopping site I frequent, I came across a 'vintage' razor.
I'll use 'lowercase' until it's pedigree is figured out.

Mind you I'm not a complete idiot...
('well I guess this will yet to be determined here, eh? lol.)
I have been using tools & implements my whole life, more than a few blades as well.
So I'm not without reference points as to what constitutes a sound tool.

All I could muster, told me that the razor I was considering was either...
"A") So cheap, it would not matter 'much' if it was a total waste,
    or,
"B") I might just have "Lucked Out"(based on general condition).
I figured 'worst case' I have an example to practice a 'simple restoration' on,
and/or to possibly learn a few things about "cut throats" as I now own one.

Anyhoo, not to get too long-winded...
    Glad to have found ya'll,
I know I've got lots to learn,
    and this looks like a good place to have 'washed up' at;
I'll try not to make too much of a "Pain-in-the-Keister" of myself!

Most definitely the best way to learn is at the meets. This gives you the opportunity for hands on learning and the ability to see and possibly try things that you may or may not like. At the meet in Yakima there will be some soap samples as well so you can smell some of the different scents and possibly take home something...
Welcome to the forum, if you ever have questions feel free to ask either in the open forum or you can PM me directly as well.

    Glen, nice new welcome message...

Welcome to the neighborhood and have fun shaving with straight razors. Sounds like you're in for a great time. Cheers!
