Thanked: 0A Buckeye Hello
Hello from Ohio. Friends think I'm crazy for all the blood letting I've gone through. The learning curve hasn't been pretty but I'm still at it. I'm a bicyclist with a hard head and I used to fly for a living. Hope to learn a lot on this forum (already have by watching the videos and visiting the library).

Welcome to SRP Al!
with what are your learning? sounds like a not shave ready blade. dull edges lead to more bloodletting. Let us know and include some pics, we like pictures.
besides a dull edge improper beard prep and technique also contribute to a less than optimal shave. tell us more about your prep and we might be able to help you reduce the carnage.
enjoy,
jim

Thanked: 0I'm using a shaving soap and a boar brush. I leave it on for about one minute before shaving. The razor feels sharp but not as sharp as I would like. It takes a bit of pressure to shave. In the past, I have used a disposable straight razor blade and had a good shave but my technique sucked and I cut my self almost every time. Now I'm down to small nicks about once or twice a week.

pressure to shave could be a few things, razor angle on the face is too steep or the blade is dull try some extra stopping on the leather say 50 additional laps and then a more shallow razor angle.
