Thread: Not Yet a SR Newbie

Been wet shaving for a while now and am thinking of making the plunge into straights. Figured I would read and learn here for a while before making any purchases. Have plenty of soaps/creams, brushes, etc, but will need all the straight gear. Looking forward to learning for a while first.

Good to see that you are already a wet shaver. now all you need is a strop and a blade. both of them can be found at various vendors here or in the classifieds. expect to spend between $50 and $200. fifty will get you a vintage shave ready blade that may not be the prettiest tool but it will be ready for shaving and a simple strop, the $200 will get you a brand new razor and a fancier strop. and there are all sort of stopping places in between. purely a matter of personal taste.
