Default 6 shaves in Dovo 5/8

    Hi everyone.
I'm six shaves in with a dovo best quality 5/8 straight razor. I'm new to this site so I hope I can get a lot of tips about straight razor shaving. I'm still having stubble on my face after I shave but I hope eventually I'll get the bbs that everyone talks about. Thanks rastrickland

    Welcome to SRP!
slow and steady shaves the face. shaving is not removing the stubble it ia all about reducing it if you are just doing the WTG pass there might be some stibble left, for me i use 3 passes to get the face smooth. you face will vary. in a pinch i can do a WTG pass and look presentable, sometimes in the evening i will do this just to eliminate any shadow that might have crept in but that is a rare special occasion thing.
if you have lots of stubble you may need to adjust your blade angle a bit.
since you are 6 shaves in ... where did you get your razor? was it pre-honed? what type of strop are you using and please tell us about your beard prep...

    enjoy,
    jim

Thanks for the reply Jim. I got my razor on Amazon from a vendor called royal shave...I think it's a website. I'm pretty sure it should have been shave ready. I'm using a filly strop that I got from ruprazor.com. As far as my beard prep goes I shave when I get out of the shower with van Der Hagen shave soap and a badger hair brush. Ive been trying to watch the angle of the razor as I'm shaving but it might just be my inexperience in stropping that is making my shaves seem inadequate.
