Thanked: 0Hello to everyone
Hello everyone. My name is Carlos Garcia and live at St. Petersburg, Florida. I have purchase my straight razor kit, but even though I have tried to sharpen for me since I have not been able to get that razor's edge. Does anyone in the area of St. Pete, Fl knows of a place or someone that may sharpen it for me?
Many blessing to all.

Hi Carlos, and welcome.
Without knowing how the 'kit' came about, its best to assume its NOT a shave ready edge, and needs honing. If this is your first encounter shaving w/ a str8, its not a good time to try to learn honing also. The good news is that there are several guys will gladly hone for just the postage costs to send it back to you. There are also a number of very competent pros that would be happy to make that edge sing & dance. The 'vendors' section of the site will have lists of them. New guys need better edges than us old farts. It helps you learn the shave.
When starting, there's only 3 things that are important. The shave itself, making lather/beard prep, and stropping. There's an overwhelming amount that can be learned, but for now, those 3 are the important ones.
The shave technique is well explained in 'your first straight shave', which is linked on the site's home page.
Making lather/beard prep is well covered by Mantic: How To Build And Apply Traditional Shaving Lather - YouTube
Stropping is well covered by Glen's 3/11 thread. http://straightrazorpalace.com/begin...ch-2011-a.html
You probably learn more quickly than I, but I found these worth going through in some detail several times - especially the stropping.
There's some learning involved, but its extremely satisfying. A couple yrs later and the enjoyment shows no sign of letting up. 'Hope you enjoy it alot.

And yes. The razor its without shaving edge. I will greatly appreciate that listing so I can have it sharpen. Again, thank you so much for the info and the video as well.
