Default I want to try a straight razor for the first time.

Hi, I am a brand new member, and am still looking for a decent inexpensive razor to try. I am a long time eletric razor user, but want to get compleatly smooth. I'm hoping to find a nice(probably used) razor for a good price to get started, and if i enjoy it upgrade later to smothing nicer. Any suggestions are much appriciated.

    Welcome to SRP!
since you are coming from an electric shaver you probably with need everything. Razor, strop, brush and soap/cream. the brush and soap issue can be solved and drug stores or even wallyworld. razors and strop can be found at many of the vendors in the vendors corner or the classified, just make sure the razor is listed as shave ready.
watch the videos, read the beginners tips. take your time and ask questions.

    enjoy,
    jim

Thanks Jim, I've been looking all night and it is kind of overwelming, I'm about to just give up on picking out a razor and go with the wipped dog poor man deal. Do you have any particular venders that would best accomidate someone like me looking to get a inexpessive razor that will give a decent performance?
