Thread: Love the old vintage razors

Hey fellows this is mrraider. I am 62 yrs. old and live in No. Calif. Just want to say I've been shaving with safety razors, single edge, double edge, injector razors for the past 15 months. I have previously used the modern gillette and schick razors using the 2, 3, 4 and 5 razor blades. I was looking at the web site for ratings for the latest and modern razors and have tried a lot of them. I didn't even think about safety razors till I found a web site on these by accident. Then I thought I would look into it more . Didn't start shaving till the early seventies because I had a beard and used various modern razors for trimming. In the past years buying these modern razors, I never really noticed the safety razors on the racks. I wish I would have had some idea about them before. I still have those razors but still love the old gillette, schicks, gems and valet strop. I have a good size collection now and feel that I would never sell any of them because I really enjoy them for my own personal use and collecting hobby. I love the old razors that were made so sturdy with the metal materials instead of the cheap plastics that are sold nowadays. The men that invented and designed the old vintage razors were pretty talented and great craftsmen. These razors could not be made or sold for under $50 because of them being so well built with the metals, the little gears, little wheels, turning adjustment numbers, knobs, etc. In closing, I too, am an addicted and avid shaver guy and take pleasure in knowing that the shavers I use have a lot of good history behind them. I am still always looking for another razor to add to my collection.
