Thanked: 4Glad to be here
Saludos! What a great forum and community. I am Bobby and recently turned 31. I have read a lot different forums on the net, and the forums reflect the character of the community. Without a doubt, there is something different about this community. I can’t explain it, but it’s virtuous in nature. There is little hate, and a lot of genuine support. I feel the community wants everybody to succeed, and it shows by the level of coaching and support displayed. I am excited to join the party, learn new things, and meet new friends.
I “converted” to wet shaving about 6 weeks ago. I woke up one morning, pulled out my dull cartridge razor and thought to myself, “I hate this crap!” – I remember it vaguely. I went to AOS in Cherry Creek Colorado and purchased a DE razor, badger brush, PS oil, cream, soap, and balm in sandalwood. After my first shave with my newly acquired tools, I looked at myself in the mirror, touched my smooth face, felt like a million dollars and knew I hit the jackpot. I was hooked. Some say nothing is guaranteed in life, but I can pretty much guarantee that I will NEVER, and I mean never, put a cartridge razor on my face again.
I would also like to mention that every man and woman would wet shave if they knew better (I was in that group). Personal care products manufactured by conglomerates are about profit, not performance or the well being to the customer. It's sad. If anything, I will wet shave for the remainder of my life to spite the pollution of cartridges, proliferation of expensive, inferior tools - in hopes that a mass revolution can manifest. I am going to spread the word, lol, to return to the days of the gentleman. Newer is not better, and class is a choice.
Thanks to all.
