Thanked: 0Hello from a new guy
Just another post to introduce myself, aeroathlete (an athletic Aerospace Engineering major). I haven't started yet but I am working up to it and know that I will have some questions despite the great amount of available information here. Looking forward to getting going!

Welcome to SRP. Be sure to read the very helpful links for beginners on the home page, those should answer a lot of your questions. If they don't, then feel free to post any questions you have.

Thanked: 21Just some advice from someone who made the mistake, be sure to check the DO NOT BUY list. It's no fun trying to start out with a razor that will most likely NEVER shave.

Welcome! You've come to the right place. I was in your shoes about a year ago but now I'm getting great quality shaves with the straight most of the time. Have fun and ask lots of questions.

Thanked: 443Welcome, aeroathlete! Where do you live? Check the Community drop-down menu/Find Local Help to see if there's someone nearby who can help you get started. If there's a meetup near you, definitely go to that. Because straight-razor shavers are now so few and far between, most of us have struggled in isolation to learn this art. The luckiest of us, like you, found SRP early on. I was not so lucky, but perservered.
Best wishes to you from western Colorado
