    Talking Hello from Michigan!

    Hello,

My name is Michael and I am a 20 year old gentleman currently in college in Michigan studying a double major in computer science and business finance. I recently started becoming interested in the art and manliness of shaving and wanted to begin in the right place. I was reading up on straight razors and ended up here. I don't know much about straight razors. I've been reading up on the FAQ and the beginners guide. But here I am willing to learn more and ready to shave as soon as possible.

Thank you so much for the friendly welcome!

Actually I have my first question. Since I am new, Should i purchase a new razor or look for something used? I have been browsing the web and found a used razor on craigslist for 40 dollars but i'm not sure if it is worth it. Here is the link to the advertisement on craigslist: Straight razor custom scales

If that razor proves to not be a worthy blade, I was gonna go ahead and purchase a Dovo best quality black 6/8. I have some money put away and would love to invest in good blade.

Let me know what you think!

Welcome to SRP Michael. Personally, I would start your search for a shave ready razor here in the classifieds. If you don't find something you're interested in, then check with the vendors here. Best of luck.
