Thread: newbie from michigan

Hi all,

Well I am coming back to the straight razor after 18 years of DE shaving. I shaved my first few years of shaving with the straight but the Army made it tough to keep that going. I like making pocketknives and leatherwork and look forward to getting into this as a hobby and not just a way to trim some whiskers. Any locals to lansing michigan area or west. Could use some help learning how to maintain razor, Grandpa not around anymore to help. Also interested in rebuilding old razors, and maybe grind some of my own.

Welcome aboard. I grew up in Mason and graduated from the school on the banks of the Red Cedar. Don't live there anymore but still have family around South Lansing area off Logan St.

I am 1-1.5 hours southeast near Ann Arbor. Not sure when I am going to be out the Lansing way. PM me your info so that next time I am coming through, I can convince the wife to let me stop by!
