Thanked: 2hi im not entirely new but i am a noob. ..
hi all...
Im not new to sr shaving but have got kinda out of the habit.
I had a dovo blade that i never felt gave a good shave and couldn't find anyone close to hone it for me so i have been using a shavette for many years.
Anyways...today i decided to get back in the saddle and purchased an expensive but rather lovely Adoration Deluxe blade in unused condition...honed and shave ready.
Now because it is such a lovely item and i don't want to wreck it im going to ask a stupid question....
Just to check...when stopping..Always use the smooth side of the stop right??
Also will a hanging stop be ok and mine has a few necks in it so should i get a new one?
Many thanks for.reading and thank you in advance for any replies.

Thanked: 433Yes, the smooth side is the one you want to use, if it has a plain linen side use that 1st for 20-30 laps.
The help files in here have info on fixing nicks, you should get those fixed especially if they are in the middle area of the strop and can't be avoided.
