    Hi, I'm Tom, very new to straight razor shaving but tonight after about 2 weeks of shaving I got my first acceptable shave. I look forward to learning all I can from this forum . Thanks

    Welcome to SRP!! Glad to hear of your success. What kind of razor are you using? Quite a few our members are in northern Oklahoma, and if I can ever help you in anyway, just let me know!! My daughter and family are in Wichita and Kansas is not far from me.

    Welcome, Tom! If you have a chance to meet up with a more experienced shaver, take it! Most of us have had to learn on our own what every man once learned from his father... but now we're resurrecting a technology that has skipped two or three generations. I'm always a little tickled by how critical this newfangled internet is to our anachronistic efforts.

    Capital City here. I began with a 4/8 Dovo "Best." I have gotten a few more since, but still love that Best - you never forget your first : ).
