german razors
hello, I'm jay, and I'm still new at straight razors but I am not giving up. I find It's cool. I shave with an ambossmann # 39, not sure what that means, and a hibbert spencer bartlett antiseptic 1645. would like to know more about the #'s as well as the company who made ambossmann. thanks, jay

I cant help much, but I can attest to the second company. I have one of their razors and infact shaved with it today, with fantastic results. Thats really all I care about.
For a little encouragement it took me a while before I could get better results with a straight than with a cartridge but its well worth it. Maybe see if you can find a mentor in your area.

I have a 9/16 Ambossmann ( Anvil Man ), and it is a lovely shaver.
They were made by Rud. Frauenzimmer IIRC. Please have a peek here :
