Thanked: 443Welcome Christian, and congrats on a nice blade find. I'll strongly second Pinklather's advice, as I also tried to combine honing and shaving into the same learning curve. I didn't make real progress on either until my first purchase of a professionally honed razor.
Best wishes to you

Welcome aboard, Christian. Nice to somebody from my neck of the woods on here. I live in Cottonwood, just south of Dothan and sometimes work out of Elba. Shoot me a PM if ya want to and I'll be glad to help out anyway I can. Looks like you got a nice blade there. Just remember, slow and easy is the key. Do one thing at a time, do it well, then move on. I've been at this a couple of years now and still consider myself a newbie but I'll be glad to help all I can.

Thanked: 2209Welcome to SRP,
Pinklather gave you some great advice. I would follow it.
The next thing to do is to take JFleming up on his offer. It will shorten your learning curve considerably.
