Thanked: 0Admirer of things of the era of good craftsmanship joins your ranks!
Hi all,
Just made my first purchase today of a Straight razor. (Actually two!)
I saw them in an antique store a while ago and have been thinking of them since.
About me:
23/M/Melbourne
Possibly an old soul.
Currently: Cafe Waitstaff/Aviation student.
Likes Film photography and old things.
Will post about my razors in another thread. (Pics and all!)
Cheers,
El

Thanked: 2Welcome!
Well done on the purchase! As I'm sure you have learned, or will soon learn, get them honed by a pro.
I had one honed by a professional, and kept one for fettling and learning the craft. Then I just kept buying the damn things even though I still can't hone!!!!
I tell you, as soon as I have the skills, I will be one busy fella...
The people on here are really genuine, and there is a bucketload of advice available. Even if your question is one of the more repeated ones, people will always give you help and advice, even if it's just a link to a past thread.
Take things slowly and learn each part well, young jedi!

Thanked: 0Thanks! I spent the last 3 years learning to fly at Archerfield after having moved up from Sydney, so don't worry - I'm not from Melbourne
