Exclamation Greetings to all on SRP..

Hi... Ive been wet shaving for over a year now and love it. I use a dual edge safety currently, but looking to start with the straights. An advance thanks to all of you guys on this board for all the info you bring to this community. I hope to help out when I get some SE knowledge.

by the way.. this is not my first post I was asking a question about two razors i just bought at estate sales and a box that maybe you can help me with. the thread is here:

    Armando, Welcome.

You've definitely hit the motherload of good help and info.

You may wish to consider buying a straight from a member - or someone who uses one daily. 1 estate sale blade for $10 + $30-50 in restoration fees would buy you one razor ready to shave with.

You'll find that thinking pretty wide-spread. However you go - make sure you obtain a professional quality edge. You'll thank yourself and your learning curve will be much more pleasant.

    Enjoy!

thanks for the info.. im already in for the two i bought today. i have done some homework, so i kinda know what to look for. the 2 i bought have solid edges and zero chips. no pitting anywhere near the edge. only the pipe razor had some pitting, but its on the spine. not really worried about that one. both just need to be honed and ill be ready to jump into this. just have to get over my anxiety about slicing myself. ill make sure i have a couple of days off before doing my first SE shave... just in case.
