Gidday from Downunder
Hello Everyone,
I cant believe I have waited this long to take the plunge, have been keen on straight razors for 25+ years. I actually had one try when I was a teenager with my Pop's razor but he had left us quite some time before that and his razor wasn't in very good fettle. I wish I knew where it got too. This looks like a great place to learn some theory and perhaps some pitfalls too. I am into making my own bowhunting equipment and just got into edges tools as well so perhaps I will have a go at making my own razor one day. Looking forward to cruising the site more and learning about wet shaving.
Cheers........ Rod

Thanked: 334Hi, rod, and welcome to SRP! You can learn anything you want to know about wet shaving here. Check out the wiki and the library, and if you have any questions, just ask. We're all here to help one another. Also, pics of your gear are always welcome!

Thanked: 884Welcome to the madness.
As MLA says, there's lots of information available here. Both by reading and asking.
There are also several of your fellow countrymen here as well and forum ESPECIALLY devoted to you poor lads that are upside down from us "yanks".

Hi rodlong,
Welcome mate to SRP from a fellow Townsvillian. I think you are the only other TVL guy on this site.
My teenage daughters have done some archery here but not too much lately.
Do you have a favourite straight razor and how are you keeping it shave ready?
I look forward to maybe catching up for a yarn over coffee one day.

G'day to you Rod. Welcome aboard.

Thanked: 485G'day, how ya going?
I'd check with Maple about what he means by 'photos' of 'gear' before you post photos. You could get banned even before you start...Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Thank you for the warm welcome fellas. There sure are a lot more Aussies here than I first expected.
I appreciate the "heads up" on the "down under" forum Willie, thanks.
I don't have a razor yet Sunbird (I'd probably get banned for writing what I use currently ), got one on it's way so hopefully I'll be able to unpack it on father's day Coffee and a yarn sounds good mate.
That's funny Carl
