Thanked: 0hi folks.
I found this site while searching for info, new to straight shaving, lots of good stuff here. I learned tons in the first 30 minutes of reading. don't have much else to say at this point but I've absolutely fallen in love with straight shaving.

Nice. Are you using a straight now then? Or are you still thinking about it?
Not sure this site will help you pick a razor if you are still looking though... unless you want just about every razor lol.
WelcomeDavid

Thanked: 0Well, when I mentioned interest in switching to straight shaving, my father found an old king cutter from an antique shop down the street along with a strop of equal age. Not much info on the strop other than one tab says sharpen and the other says finish 07, it's got a ton of nicks and gouges in it though so a bit useless in my opinion after having read some of the threads here. On their way home my parents got another razor at an estate sale, an R.J. parabola in a Gra'fin box, which makes little sense to me. Since then I've used them a couple of times fairly successfully after running them over a 1200 and 3000 grit stone but again, after reading forums and threads here I won't be using them again until i get a decent strop and at least a 4000/8000 set of stones. So, in short, my decision is made. I'm a straight shaver, and as soon as I get the rest of the equipment I need, I'll be a practicing straight shaver. Looking forward to it.
