Default First post from long time lurker - Greetings from Leeds, England

    Hi all,

After months of lurking I thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Ash and I'm 30 from Leeds, UK. Although this is my very first post, I've interacted with several of our members on the Classifieds section and have always been dealt with in the most pleasant manner.

Having made the 'dreaded' jump from DEs to SR shaving in February, I have to admit, it has been a steep learning curve. However, over the last month or so, everything seemed to click and I've been having DFS and even BBS shaves on a consistent basis. I would like to thank everyone associated with this wonderful shaving forum for that, with me spending hours reading through the different threads and wiki pages. I still remember my first shave with an entry level TI 5/8 from Martin @ Rasurpur, I was a wreck - trying to get the right angles, stretching the skin and using my non-dominant left hand.

I consider myself a novice still but my first shave seems a distant memory these days. Gone are the days where shaving was a chore, now I actually look forward to my daily shaves.

Straight razor shaving has also got me into various 'afflictions' however, from RAD, SBAD to HAD!! My current set up consists of about 25 razors (not including the ones in the post), although some of them are not shave-ready yet, 7 brushes, a Naniwa Superstone progression (3k to 12k), a Chosera 1k and a red La Dressante coticule. I've also acquired 4 strops and a number of soaps/creams and AS/balms.....

Anyhow, I would like to thank SRP again for making my journey into Straight razor shaving a pleasurable one so far.....

I hope to contribute more and share my experiences in the future (my hours at work make it difficult at times),

    Ash

    Hi and welcome!
I'm sure you'll find SRP even better now, having joined in on the fun.

You sound to be off to a great start, good work.

Thank you Birnando, it's great to be 'officially' part of the community.
