Default Born and raised in Switzerland

    Hi !
Like i said i'm from switzerland and full swiss blood. I joined the forum to get more experience about this nice tools which we all use to shave are beard. Right now i own the dovo shavette. It was quite simple tool to shave and didn't need any excessive investment.

Now time is to change. "Yes we can". I definitely looking for a nice straight razor and a strop. I own almost all the rest of the material.

I like the shave my self 3 pass and at least 2 pass. My grand father is still shaving himself with a Mercur Razor even if the capitalism would advice to go with gilette 3 blades system "lol".

    See ya on the forum

Hello, knibal, and welcome to Straight Razor Place. The regular straight razor will be a slightly different experience from the Shavette. For one thing, it will be more forgiving. It will not feel as sharp as the machine-made and coated Shavette blade. Your skill, however, will compensate for that. Also, the regular razor will have a better balance in the hand. Naturally, it will require maintenance — and that's part of the fun of the regular straight razor. Yes, you'll need a strop. You can't go wrong with the Illinois (Fromm) No. 127 strop for starters. Good luck.

Hello knibal and welcome. SWMBO (She who must be OBEYED) is half Swiss. I am looking at a picture of her parents when they visited the relatives somewhere in your beautiful country. You are now a member of a great bunch of people who enjoy and promote wet shaving with a SR.
