    Default More Canadians

    Hello all,

I have been reading for a couple months now, just joined as I am now finally ready to give it a go. I'm from western Canada, and had a SR shave for the first time last year while on vacation, and have been hooked ever since. Being a bit old fashioned, and in an area without much of a SR scene, I had to wait until on vacation again this year to get a chance to hold a razor personally. After all was said and done, I ended up with a Dovo 5/8 hollow ground. I am looking for somewhere to have it honed, and trying to resist the urge to use it prematurely.

Any advice on where to have a razor honed would be greatly appreciated.

As far as myself, just about 30, working in the Canadian oil fields, enjoy hiking, consider myself an amateur beer connesuir(?), which admittedly conflicts with the hiking. My take on learning the art of the shave is that it is a way to differentiate real life as opposed to that in the bush, where somedays, a shave ends up being a bottle of water, a cartridge razor and a truck mirror.

    Cheers.

Welcome fellow Albertan!! Are you northern Alberta? I'm not sure if anyone in Alberta hones professionally. I can do a pretty decent job but I'm not a professional for sure. Enjoy SRP!!

I'm from around Edmonton, but I am heading down to Calgary tomorrow night for a few days. Maybe we can figure something out?

Welcome from a member in Edmonton.

I too consider myself a beer connoisseur; being a Canadian I guess it just comes naturally.

If you have any questions please ask away.
