    Default Newbie From Louisville

    Hello All,

I am new to straight razor shaving but love it so far. I purchased a sight-unseen kit from WD and have 7 shaves under my belt. So far, the first shave was the only one that produced a small cut. That said, I cannot say the same for my poor-mans strop. Luckily there is a Tandy Leather Store in town and am planning a trip to look in their scrap bin. I have ordered a set of lapping films and have some granite pieces waiting so that I can try my hand at honing. I have gotten a few fixer-uppers from that auction site that are in decent shape.

Robertson w/ cracked blade free but unfortunate
Neville's Neverfail made in Germany (all I know for now)
    Spike (WD)

My journey began long ago when I found that my facial hair and/or chemistry killed a cartridge in one shave. And we all know that the prices of everything is only headed in one direction. I started DE shaving to try and save dollars. Little did I know the massive support forums and product base available for wet-shavers. I know now!

As for me, I am a 32 YO father of 2 girls. I am full-time musician for the last 14 years and have seen much of this country and Canada. My current band is The Juggernaut Jug Band, check us out, I am the younger one. I look forward to learning and sharing.

Thank you for letting me into your club!
