Greetings
Hello,
I am a brush user for 4 decades and a safety razor user for 12 years. Straight razor: one shave. How did this happen? About a year and a half ago I started growing a mustache. Recently I found that the double edged razor was to clumsy around the perimeter of the mustache so I purchased a Parker disposable blade 'straight razor like object.' It worked, and the shaves were close although somewhat unforgiving
Enter the forums, and most deadly for me, the Shave of the Day photographs....so much beauty in something so functional with a fascinating history. Next Ebay and I hope a sensible Red Imp. Truthfully, when I opened the razor I was giddy. I immediately felt an affinity for this razor. I waited a day and did my first ever real straight razor shave with a lot of help from the terrific people in these forums and various vendor videos. The shave was noisy. It was not my closest shave but my head is still attached to my neck. Oh, and i slightly misjudged the blade length(compared to the Parker) and wacked off the edge of my mustache and had to remove it. No worries, it just gives me some more real estate to cover.

Welcome to SRP! Seems as though the bait has been swallowed and the hook set.

Welcome to SRP. Misjudging blade length in the early days is easily done. For me, it was always the ears.
