    Hey All,

Just started DE shaving a couple months ago, wet shaving for a couple years (with a cart). Looking at all the purdy straights and wanting to get into that next. Thanks in advance to all the people who will provide great advice (I know you're out there!) and I look forward to the next steps!

    Cheers,

    M.

Welcome to SRP, I dont think you will be disappointed by getting to know a straight,... if you do decide to go down this path we can do it together, and trade and try new things we get,.. always fun to have someone near you with a similar interest it helps

Welcome! You have come to the right place. Not only is this a very welcoming, friendly, and supportive forum, there is an absolute wealth of information contained in the wiki.

If you haven't found them yet, here are a few great starting points:

Good luck! And if you have any questions, ask away.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

NN, you hit the motherload. In shaving, and in where to get great help.

If you've been using DE, you know how to make lather - so you can concentrate on the shave itself (see your first str8 shave on the home page), and on stropping (this is big). Glen's 3/11 post on stropping is excellent - worth going through many times. It links Afdavis' video on the all important 'flip' at the end of a stropping stroke. There are 5 strops that would still be living if I'd have seen that vid.

'Hope you enjoy the discovery. The shaves are not to be believed.
