Thread: Hello from Northern Virginia!

I started my path to st8's from an Art of Shaving store. Got my sample pack, and just loved the experience of using a brush, shave cream, taking time to prep my face/beard. Since then, been doing a ton of research and video watching on here and Geo's Shave Nation YouTube channel. It has been a little overwhelming, since naturally I like to learn as much as I can before I start something. But I stopped for now, when I started getting into all the honing info lol

I am excited to order my first set. I picked out all the things that I want/need. Keeping my budget under $250. Going with a 6/8 half-hollow Dovo set, from Vintage Blades LLC. Then buying a few other things off Shave Nation. Geo is a great guy, talked to him on the phone a couple times. We're both from the Chicago area

Some of you might say, to get a used razor, but I don't like the thought/feeling of that. I'm a bit of a spiritualist lol, so I don't want anything that was attached to a previous person. (Don't be weirded out... come on now ) Either way, I'll still have a look at the classifieds and see what there is.

I am a designer/artist for a living, currently a Web Designer/developer. Went to school for animation.

Maybe if someone lives by me, at some point, I can get a personal lesson on honing 101. That would be fun and exciting! Again, nice to meet everyone, and thank you Lynn for putting up a great site and community!

So I actually got something off the classified! A nice beginner's razor, and looks beautiful also! Monopol 5/8 razor
