Thread: Hey There!

I'm just a young guy (23) looking at getting started here. Currently using one of those commercial razors with half a dozen blades and disposable cartridges. Recently came across a brush and soap so just made the switch from aerosol gel/creams 2 shaves ago (being blonde means getting away with stubble!) and will soon enough be purchasing a razor for myself.

Was introduced to straight-razor shaving when I sat in on a panel a month ago, and I am intrigued.

My first priority, though, is my brother: his big 30th birthday is one month away, and I think it'd be a good gift to get him everything he needs to get started - razor, brush, soap/mug, strop. I've come across this set (seems like I should include the DVD as well), and it looks promising. Figured it might be a good idea to ask for a few opinions from the more experienced before saying goodbye to $200, though!

They do indeed, honed by Lynn himself. Though I do not see anything about a free second honing as with SRD, so that is one tick in favour of that one.
