    Default New boy from UK

    Hey.
My names Ben and I'm 22 and I'm from Suffolk in the Uk. Iv been using a double edge razor for about a year and now im consistently using a shavette but I always end up finishing off with the DE. So I'm taking the plunge and venturing into the world of straights, but before I buy one I'm going to do some research and pick the brains of some of the more experienced guys on here so I don't end up spending money on something that may not suit my needs.
    Thanks Ben.

Welcome! There's certainly a wealth of info available here.

Getting the kit necessary for straight shaving shouldn't cost a fortune if you choose well, although I seem to have an odd definition of necessary, and it did. :/

I got one or two of my mates into straights .. they all ended up with an ivisable edge entry razor little strop and a chineese 12k stone for just £19 razor was 60 and strop was 20.. 6 months later and my mates razor is still going with just ch12k and the same strop.. then you need a brush and shaving cream... Is exact words was... the money he saved buying mach 3's as paid for his beginners kit all ready...

Oh that's interesting iv just been looking at that website but couldn't find much info on that make. Not many places you can get a shave ready second hand one in uk. That I no of anyway.

Hey, another UK lad, nice to see. Don't go looking at theinvisableedge too long. I started looking at getting an entry level razor, then started looking at nicer ones. Ended up with an Iwasaki...

Also want to say, their leather/canvas strop was not very good. He did offer to send me another though. I declined as I will just buy elsewhere. Everything else he is first class.
