    If you rinse your razor then the water is both on the blade AND inside the scales. You must dry both. A towel is ok, but I would suggest a paper one because it's less dangerous for the blade and it's easier to fit inside the scales.

    I doubt the little fella would eat much of the eucalyptus oil lol!! But it's pretty poisonous, so I wouldn't risk it.

    I'm new at this also so can take what i say with a grain of salt, but I generally rinse my blade off with hot water (the water here can get extremely hot), I then wipe it down really well with a soft towel, then I'll give the blade and scales a really good rub down with some charmin toilet paper (staying away from the edge), after that it's 20 passes on the nylon strop and 30 passes on my leather strop (after rubbing it for a bit with my hand to warm it up). Then I'll let it sit for an hour or two and apply the oil that came with the razor, the bottle has a nice felt(?) applicator to rub it on the blade.
